Become an Osteopath
When you're thinking of becoming an osteopath you need to graduate from an accredited osteopathic school, college or university. The osteopath programs vary in length and diplomas and also degrees are been offered. The degree programmes are generally between 1000 and 2000 hours and the degree programmes between 3000 and 4500 hours. The time required to graduate depends on the osteopathy program and varies from 4 months to 4 years.
The world health organization (WHO) recommends, 4200 hours, (4), osteopathic education for students with no prior health education and 1,000 hours (1 year) - for students with previous health education. However, the WTO directive is voluntary and not compulsory. It is not a requirement to follow the WHO directive. Some Osteopathic schools voluntarily follow the WHO directive.
